Community Arts Project. 2019.

No matter the intention, all art is propaganda. Even landscapes can hold such power by furthering a constructed and problematic division between humanity and nature. Community Arts Project explores an alternate course for the future, inspired by the powerful imagery of National Park posters made by the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. In this vision, the government values a more harmonious relationship with people and the environment. Art defines, distorts, and transforms the world. While many people focus on the use of beauty as a visual experience, Community Arts Project seeks to use beauty as a means of changing society. No landscape is just a landscape; words are never just words; and all art is propaganda.
